Dr. Haoyu Wang
In 2009, Haoyu Wang received his bachelor's degree in electrical engineering with distinguished honor from Zhejiang University in Hangzhou, China. In 2014, he received his Ph.D. in electrical engineering from the University of Maryland, College Park, MD, USA. In Fall 2014, he joined the School of Information Science and Technology at ShanghaiTech University, where he is currently an associate professor with tenure. His research interests include power electronics, plug-in electric vehicles, renewable energy systems, datacenter power conversion, battery management systems and modeling, wireless power transfer, pulsed power supply in emerging applications, and power electronic interfaces for energy harvesting. He is the author and co-author of more than 100 peer-reviewed conference and journal papers. As an inventor, he filed 14 China patents.
Dr. Wang is a senior member of IEEE and a senior member of China Power Supply Society. He serves as an Associate Editor for IEEE Trans. Ind. Electron., IEEE Trans. Transp. Electrif., and CPSS Trans. Power Electron. Appl. Since 2016, he has served as the track chair for IEEE APEC. He served as the session chairs for prestigious conferences including IEEE APEC, IECON, ECCE-Asia, ITEC, and CPSS annual meetings. He is a reviewer for top-tier journals including IEEE Trans. Power Electron. and IEEE Trans. Ind. Electron. He was invited to give technical talks at IEEE Power Electronics Society Webinar, IEEE Industrial Electronics Society Webinar, IEEE Transportation Electrification Webinar, and the 2020 7th international forum on Electrical Engineering and Automation.
He is the recipient of the first-class award for teaching and education from the Chinese Academy of Sciences (2020), key teaching reform project from Shanghai Municipal government (2020), Shanghai Rising Star Talent (2020), outstanding presentation award in IEEE APEC (2019), finalist of IEEE IAS TSC prize award (2019), Excellent Faculty Adviser for Social Engagement from ShanghaiTech (2019), ShanghaiTech Outstanding Employee (2017), SIST Best Teaching Award (2017), Shanghai Sailing Talent (2016), Distinguished Dissertation Fellowship from the University of Maryland (2014), IEEE APEC Travel Grants (2020, 2018, 2014), NSC fellowship (2009-2013), Finalist of Qualcomm Innovation Fellowship (2012), and CKC Distinguished Graduate from Zhejiang University (2009). His undergraduate course “Intro. Info. Sci. Tech.” was recognized by the Shanghai Municipal Government as an “excellent course” (2018). His graduate students received honors including the China National Scholarship, Distinguished Graduate from Shanghai Municipal Government, Distinguished Graduate from the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Distinguished Graduate from ShanghaiTech University, etc.
